Ngoc (Bora) Hoang

Master of Business Administration

During my MBA program, I had the opportunity to be a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a proactive leader for the Vietnamese club and the Human Resources Management club where I could fulfill my passion and contribute to the school community. I built trust and understanding with other students from different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.

My Top 3 Tips for future students: Stay focused, be resilient, and believe in yourself.

Arshia Bansal

Post Bacc Diploma in Supply Chain Management

I started at TRU as an international student in 2018, as most of us did. Having a hard time finding work, I decided to volunteer. I began with SOBE as an Academic Advising volunteer. Volunteering at various TRU events helped me gain essential work skills and grow my connections. I had excellent advisors like Rien and Aliana, who were really supportive and played a big role in my journey.

My Top 3 Tips for future students: Stay positive, participate as much you can, and have faith in yourself.

Parth Bajaj

Post Bacc Diploma in Accounting

Canada is a lovely country full of lovely people, and I got my first experience right here, at TRU. Everyone is really helpful, and the faculties know what they are doing.

One of the best things I like about TRU is its infrastructure, TRU’s importance to sustainability, and small class sizes. In summary, coming to Kamloops and TRU was a great decision.

My Top 3 Tips for future students: Take notes, organize your time wisely and don’t be too hard on yourself.

Harjot Kaur

Master of Education

TRU provides support in the form of the Library, Graduate Success Centre, Writing Centre, Language Learning Centre, along with a conducive environment to learn and grow. The instructors, who are basically scholars, are the backbone of TRU along with the staff. Their helping, encouraging, and appreciating attitude made me develop an open mindset with balance and logic.

My Top 3 Tips for future students: Follow Academic Integrity, ask for help and engage in TRU events.

Mustafa S. Lokhandwala

Bachelor of Arts Major in Sociology

My experience at TRU has been the best four years of my life. I have met people from across the globe and learned about various cultures and countries, making lifelong friends through the years. The university experience has been quite the rollercoaster, from getting distracted from studies by spending time with friends and going to TRU events. All this made me who I am.

My Top 3 Tips for future students: Go and explore Kamloops, explore the local food, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and meet new people.
