It is that time of the year when we have midterms, assignments, and exams. You might be feeling stressed and overwhelmed. You are not alone! It is ok if you are feeling a bit flat by now. Still, it is essential to try to keep a positive mind and optimistically think about the future.
Check out my tips to achieve a positive mindset during these uncertain times.
1. Listen to Music
Music helps you feel better somehow. We are always so busy that we forget to pay attention to simple things such as listening to music while drinking tea. Music allows us to express our feelings and communicate with others.
2. A Daily Mindful Walk
I used to walk without paying attention to my surroundings and my breath. In mindful walking, we have to pay attention to each step and our breath. Pay attention to the little things.
How do you feel if you increase your pace?
3. Open yourself up to humour
Some days can be difficult, but the best medicine for that is a good laugh. You can try to find humour in the unexpected or remember a joyful moment that made you laugh.
Last fall instead, of typing messages to one of my friends, we communicated with each other through memes. It was super fun and made us laugh until our belly hurt.
4. Watch something inspiring
I watched on Brené Brown: The Call to Courage on Netflix a while back, but I feel that I can watch this one 1000x. If you want to get inspired, you should check it out. You will learn that vulnerability is a gift.
5.Focus on the present
Yes. I know it can be tricky, but not impossible. I am talking about the present and not talking about one hour from now or what you will have for dinner. I am talking about right now, at this exact moment. Forget what happened 5 minutes ago or what you plan to do 5 minutes ahead.
If you practice this daily, you will notice that it is easier to deal with individual moments. In most situations, you will realize it is not as bad as you imagine it to be.
