You’re probably feeling nervous about starting this new journey at TRU, but the International Student Orientation has got you covered.
TRU’s Start Here International Student Orientation is a week-long event designed to introduce you to the campus, your faculty, other first-year students and help you with your new adventure in Canada.
Start Here is the best way to kick off your life at TRU. Here’s why:
Connect with faculty, staff, and fellow students
A great way to network and meet new people is by attending the orientation. Faculty and staff will be present to answer all your questions, and you’ll be able to make new friends from all over the world during the sessions.
Become familiar with the campus & Kamloops
Participate in the campus tour to become familiar with our beautiful campus. There are also activities around Kamloops where you get to have fun with your new friends while exploring the city.
Get the information you need to succeed academically
Participate in the sessions with your Academic Advisors to plan your courses! They’ll also provide you with amazing tips on how to succeed in your classes.
Learn how to access services and supports
TRU offers many service learning, mentorship, and volunteering programs. During orientation, you’ll get to meet peer mentors and student volunteers, and learn more about all the opportunities to get involved on campus.
Have fun!
Orientation is one of the most exciting weeks for any new students. You’ll meet amazing people, take part in games and activities, enjoy free food and check out everything our campus and Kamloops have to offer!
