Skiing with Olympic Champions at Sun Peaks

TELUS Nancy Greene Alpine Classic Corporate Challenge downhill ski race was held at Sun Peaks on February 20, 2016. This memorable event raised funds for Sun Peaks Health Association, the RIH Foundation, and Sun Peaks junior ski racing. Olympic Champions, such as Nancy Greene, Steve Podborski, and Kathy Kreiner took part in this honorable event. Nancy Greene is one of the top Canadian ski racers; she won gold and silver medals at the 1968 Grenoble Olympics and 13 World Cups. Steve Podborski is well known for winning eight World Cup downhill races. He was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1985, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1987, the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame in 1988, and the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Kathy Kreiner is a former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist.

The team from Thompson Rivers University also participated in this ski race Corporate Challenge. The following skiers represented our University:
